I interviewed at Brego, and the experience left a lot to be desired. Initially, I had two online interviews with the hiring manager and team manager. Before agreeing to travel from Delhi to Bombay for a final round with the CEO, I asked about the expected compensation range to ensure we were aligned. I received confirmation on this range, which gave me the confidence to proceed. However, upon arrival, I was asked to re-do all previous interview rounds with the same individuals, which took over two hours, yet I never met the CEO as promised. Throughout the discussions, they mentioned multiple times that they didn’t think my profile was a fit, specifically due to my family business background and experience—concerns that could have been addressed well before I traveled. Additionally, they repeatedly indicated that my salary expectations were misaligned, despite having discussed this exact range beforehand. Overall, this experience felt highly unprofessional. It seemed as though I was invited under the pretense of a CEO round, only to repeat prior steps and receive conflicting messages about fit and compensation. This process wasted both my time and money, and I hope Brego considers being more transparent with future candidates to avoid unnecessary expenses and frustration.
